TENNIS IN OUR COUNTRY
Firstly we must say that popularity of tennis in our country isn’t so big. A lot of young people want to start with some sport, but many children prefer more known sports, as are hockey and football. On the second side we can find children who want to do this. Apart from the fact tennis is very exciting sport. You must have a good physical condition to do it. Often you are running with a rocket in your hands for long hours. If you have a good competitors you can play with them 3 hours and more, but when you have bad ones you can play only 1hour and 30 minutes. It is very different. If you start with tennis when you are a child, you can be successful in it. But a lot of trainings every day or every second day, it is so hard. You must have support in your family and strong will. This is a very hard work, but if you are good at it, it will pay off. Secondly there are also many problems connected with this sport. If you want to have good and quality equipment, you pay a lot of money. But it is in every sport. And you can get hurt. For example: tennis elbow, sprained ankle or some problems with your back.
Apart from the above mentioned problems there are also some advantages. You haven’t got contact with your competitor so he (she) can’t hit you. It is non-contact and very friendly sport. If you win famous cup, you earn a lot of money. And you travel around the world. I think it is the best advantage.
One should also mention our present tennis players as representatives of Czech colors in the world. Everyone knows name Martina Navrátilová. She is legend of Czech tennis. She won 18 items (9x Wimbledon, 4x US Open, 3x Australian Open, 2x French Open) in double. And as a whole she has 20 items in Wimbledon. And as cherry on the cake, she is sole player in 40 years history of Fed Cup, who never lost this cup (39 victories). Unfortunately she stopped playing tennis, because she is too old for this sport. But we have some new players. For example Radek Štepánek, Tomáš Berdych and Nicola Vaidišová. They are our best known players at this time, but they are too young yet. We can hope that they will be the same or better players then Martina. We can hope in their future.
To conclude I want to say that if someone wants to do this sport so let them do it, because every sport does well to our health. And if you stay at home all the time, you will get fat or you will have some problems with your health.

Message about keeper of Chelsea and Czech team - Petr Čech will be OK.
Petr Čech was injured in Premier league match Chelsea – Reading. In 22 second Ireland halfback Stephan Hunt attacked him. Hunt broke Peter’s skull bone. After the attack Peter was taken to the hospital, where he underwent an operation. Doctors don’t know how long he won’t be able to play. They said after the operation:,, Peter shouldn’t play for six weeks, but in worse case for six months.”
The whole Europe is watching Peter’s story, but only doctors, Chelsea and his wife know details about his injury. Delegation from Chelsea (Captain Terry and trainer Mourinho) visited hospital in Oxford, but his wife Martina is with him all the time. And she is very sad.
Our reserve exquisite keeper Jaroslav Blažek said:,, It was settling attack.” A lot of people in our country have the same opinion. Coach of Chelsea was very narky. He said:,, It was unbelievable. Peter held a ball in his hands and Hunt attacked him by the knee. And head injury is in this sport the most dangerous.” After this conversation coach saw this match on video. The next day he said:,, I saw the video and Hunt seemed to be very happy after his attack. He laughed and Peter lay under him. He didn’t look like being sad after it.”
But Stephan Hunt didn’t say the same. ,, I wanted to hit the ball. I didn’t want to attack Peter. It wasn’t my intention. The grass was wet and I couldn’t do anything. I’m very sad and I do feel bad!”
We don’t know what is true, but Hunt sent Peter a letter of apology.
Judgement is on you- readers!!!!!!!!!

Two weeks later we could read this interview with Petr on the internet:
How do you feel now?
I've got gigantic headache all day long. It is my biggest problem. I have to take medicaments, which my doctors had prescribed me. And tiredness adds to all.
When I want to breathe fresh air outside, I spend there only half an hour and I have to go home to sit or lie down.
What do the physicians say about your health?
My recovery is very quick. During the first week I made colossal progress. But we all know that nothing should be over hastened.
Can you tell us about your next plans for your treatment?
Doctors have worked out an exact plan. There is said what I can and what I cannot do. They have prepared a program for me, which includes massage, rehabilitation and short walks. Slowly I will start to burden my body and maybe I will take on some kilos too.
Petr has a rest and recovery period now and spends most time with his wife and family.
Good luck, Petr!!!
